About FLUX.1 [dev]
FLUX.1 [dev] is Black Forest Labs' 12-billion-parameter rectified flow transformer, guidance-distilled for efficient text-to-image generation — the open-weight model one step below their closed flagship, FLUX.1 [pro], in output quality. Black Forest Labs releases the weights under its own FLUX.1 [dev] Non-Commercial License, but generated outputs can still be used personally, scientifically, or commercially; the license only restricts using those outputs to train or distill a competing model. That's a real difference from its FLUX.1 [schnell] sibling, also live on getvivix, which ships under the fully open Apache 2.0 license with no restriction at all. On getvivix it runs hosted, so there's no local GPU, setup, or license negotiation to manage — just prompt and generate at up to 2048 pixels per side.
