FLUX.1 [schnell] is Black Forest Labs' fastest FLUX.1 variant: a 12-billion-parameter rectified flow transformer distilled to generate a finished image in just 1 to 4 steps. It ships under the standard Apache License 2.0 — a genuine OSI open-source license, not just open weights — so its outputs can be used personally, scientifically, or commercially with no restriction, unlike the non-commercial license on its FLUX.1 [dev] sibling. On getvivix it runs hosted, so there's no local GPU or setup required: generate images from 128 to 2048 pixels per side in 64px increments, with up to 50 steps available if you want to trade the default speed for extra refinement.
